DÓRNOR rings are sized by the inner circumference in millimetres, the system used in Denmark and most of Europe. A size 54 ring measures 54 mm around the inside. Stock sizes run from 48 to 60 in steps of two; every other size, including half sizes, is made to order in about three to six weeks.

Two ways to measure

From a ring you already wear

Choose a ring worn on the same finger of the same hand. Lay it on a ruler and measure the inside from edge to edge, in millimetres, at the widest point. That is the inner diameter; read your size from the chart below.

Around your finger

Cut a strip of paper about five millimetres wide. Wrap it around the base of the finger, snug but not tight, and mark where it overlaps. Measure the strip to the mark in millimetres. That number is your size. If it falls between two sizes, choose the larger.

Fingers change through the day and with temperature. Measure in the evening at room temperature, and make sure the ring can pass over the knuckle. A wide band sits tighter than a slim one, so for bands of five millimetres or more consider half a size up.

If you know your size in another system

Write to mail@dornor.com with the size and the system it comes from, UK, US or otherwise, and we will confirm the DÓRNOR size before you order.

If the size is not right

The first resizing of a ring bought from DÓRNOR is free. How far a ring can be sized depends on its construction; full eternity and pavé bands have limits, and the resizing page explains them. Made-to-order pieces cannot be returned, so if you are unsure, a fitting in the showroom at Danmarksgade 55A in Frederikshavn settles it in a few minutes. Wear it with

The box it arrives in

Every piece leaves in a hallmarked Bone box with the certificate, a polishing cloth and the valuation for your insurer. Gift orders travel without the invoice, and we will write the card by hand if you tell us what it should say.

Free insured delivery in Denmark, 2–4 working days; made-to-order sizes ship in three weeks. Sixty days to return a piece unworn, and we pay the postage both ways.

Before you spend four figures on a stone, talk to the person who set it. We will take you through colour, clarity and cut on the actual certificate — not the theory.

+45 91 94 35 02, weekdays 10–17.

Every stone is grown rather than mined, graded by IGI, and set in solid 14 kt gold alloyed in Denmark. The certificate names the origin of the stone; ask us for the mill certificate on the metal and we will send it.

Danish sizing is the inner circumference in millimetres, so the figure you measure is the size you order.
